Innotek Original Anti-barking Spray Collar

How does it work?

Every time your dog barks, the electronic bark-sensing unit releases a spray in front of the dog"s snout. Your dog hears it, sees it, feels it, and smells it. The dog will very quickly learn that when he or she barks, the spray collar sprays. Through this conditioned reflex, the spray collar discourages your dog from barking. In a few days, the dog learns to keep quiet while wearing the collar and concentrate on more normal activities.

The spray collar, a self-sufficient product, requires no human intervention; it will work even if you are not there.

As with all anti-bark products, they do not deal with the underlying causes of the dog"s barking. This should be dealt with at the same time as using this product. If within a two week period you have not noticed a significant reduction in the overall amount of barking, especially at night, then you have a more serious barking problem than just simple unnecessary nuisance and you will need to seek immediate help from a dog behaviourist.

How to use a Spray Collar

Using your Multivet Anti-barking Collar

Your dog must associate barking with the release of spray from the spray collar. Therefore when you dog is wearing the Innotek Spray Collar, it must be in working order with the tank full.

It may take a few days for your dog to quieten down. During the first few days of using the Innotek Spray Collar your dog may completely empty the device with his barking. It is important to never let the device run out whilst it is on your dog, otherwise your dog may learn that he can empty the device by barking!. We strongly advise you to keep an eye on your dog during the few few days of using your spray collar, so that you can refill the spray collar reservoir as soon as necessary - perhaps start with the device at a weekend for example. It is also a good idea to have a spare refill canister for when the one in the kit runs out (see "Related Items" below).

Be present when you initailly use the Innotek Anti-Spray Collar. When your dog barks, the spray is triggered and stops the barking through surpise effect. As soon as your dog has calmed down, praise and start to play with him. This way, your dog will understand that there are other ways to work off tension, and wearing the spray collar is not unpleasant.ALWAYS CONSULT A QUALIFIED DOG BEHAVIOURIST BEFORE USING ANY SPRAY COLLAR, AS THEY CAN CREATE SOME BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS, IF INCORRECTLY USED.
